Art, a film, reflects Life!
The Matt Damon film ‘Green Zone’, is one such film that does more than reflect life. Released 7 years after the Iraq war that saw the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, it tells a rather poignant story, one that points towards the possible truth on certain matters.
Primarily, it’s all about the search for the elusive WOMD’s (Weapons Of Mass Destruction), said to be in Saddam’s possession by the late Dr Kelly, the British Government, headed by serial liar Tony Blair (see the TRUTH’s article, ‘the Truth about rape’) and the US war monger, George Bush.
At the outset of the film, Damon’s character is in charge of a group of US soldiers who, acting on intel’, go to a location where the weapons possibly are, only to come up empty in that regard. While he and his fellow comrades are there, however, Damon’s character stumbles upon several important people in the film.
20 minutes into the film, and the first piece of significance is when an Iraqi citizen named Freddy notices a group of people, three of who are holding AK47 machine guns, going into a house where a meeting between them is about to be held.

Freddy recognises one of them as a man of importance and subsequently drives off in his car, only to happen upon Matt Damon and his group (22 mins). He explains to Damon what he just saw; the group going to a meeting. Acting on his info’ the group speed off in two civilian cars to the meeting’s location, only for it to be breaking up and those present leaving at the 27 minute point of the film. On 28 mins, Damon, accompanied by some of his group, rushes the house. Those inside, fire on Damon and his fellow soldiers who return fire (29 mins). They manage to capture a seemingly insignificant attendee, one who drops a most interesting and highly sought after black bound notebook (30 mins). Shortly thereafter, a ‘black ops’ group, one that outranks Damon, turn up and take the captured Iraqi away to be interrogated and brutally so, noticed when Damon, accompanied by Freddy to interpret what is said, visits the confined Iraqi.
Upon hearing what he says, Damon’s character gives the book to a CIA member, only for the person in overall control of matters to find out and sequester the book. Having read it, he realises what Damon’s character knows, and it’s at this point in the film that things both reveal themselves and get murderously ugly.
First and foremost, there are, never were, as is now ‘Clear and obvious’, any WOMD’s to begin with. A point that the significant person at the meeting, a member of the Iraqi police, made clear to the overall person in charge. Fearing that fact and the lies that followed would be revealed, he orders the senior black ops soldier to hunt down and kill ‘the messenger’ as he was, and, if he just so happens to run into Damon’s character, a fellow US soldier, then, to murder him too.
The upshot of all of this is, by killing ‘the messenger’ the truth cannot be revealed, while in Dr Kelly’s case, his death meant he could not recant the lie he told, thereby making him expendable as far as the British Government was concerned and in a similar situation to the murder of Thomas Becket Of Canterbury cathedral.
I leave you with the following. They are the terms of reference form the Hutton report, which was set up to look into Dr David Kelly’s death by PM Tony Blair. Note the contradiction in the red text:
The terms of reference:
My terms of reference were "urgently to conduct an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Dr Kelly". In my opinion these terms of reference required me to consider the circumstances preceding and leading up to the death of Dr Kelly insofar as (1) they might have had an effect on his state of mind and influenced his actions preceding and leading up to his death or (2) they might have influenced the actions of others which affected Dr Kelly preceding and leading up to his death.
There has been a great deal of controversy and debate whether the intelligence in relation to weapons of mass destruction set out in the dossier published by the Government on 24 September 2002 was of sufficient strength and reliability to justify the Government in deciding that Iraq under Saddam Hussein posed such a threat to the safety and interests of the United Kingdom that military action should be taken against that country. This controversy and debate has continued because of the failure, up to the time of writing this report, to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. I gave careful consideration to the view expressed by a number of public figures and commentators that my terms of reference required or, at least, entitled me to consider this issue. However I concluded that a question of such wide import, which would involve the consideration of a wide range of evidence, is not one which falls within my terms of reference.
Meaning that, Dr Kelly’s false evidence, evidence that he was killed for, ‘Did not fall within Lord Hutton’s terms of reference’, despite it being the core fact that, dead, he could not retract the false evidence, which he was seen giving on a TV programme and to millions of people watching, millions of people who were lied to, mislead and corrupted!
