Unravelled!
3 Conundrums
As most people reading this are no doubt aware, there are and have been three puzzles, conundrums, if you like, that have prompted debates as to the correct answer, despite the fact that two of them are straight forward while one actually reflects (human) life.
As to what they are:

The chicken and the egg, the state of a glass, and the meaning of life.
Before I give you the answer to the first two, both of which are quite easy, let me guide you as to the answer. Any answer to the first conundrum, ‘which came first, the chicken or the egg?’ Is likely to be 100% right or wrong. The overall question, though, is why?
First and foremost, ‘why’ is the watchword of logic and another word for reason as explained in the editorial of this news magazine. Unfortunately, and as I know from experience, some people confuse reason with excuse.
For example, arriving late for work and for no fault of your own, your manager/boss is likely to view the reason as an excuse. First and foremost, an excuse relates to something that is preventable. Forgetting to set your alarm clock is an excuse, as you were in total control of the problem. By comparison, a train getting stuck in a tunnel for 30 minutes, as once happened to me, is a reason.
For the chicken and the egg puzzle, consider something human, a mother and a baby. The answer and the reason suddenly become crystal clear, while how many eggs bought from a supermarket, convenience store, etc have actually hatched? The young of any animal needs an adult to feed and nurture it.
The glass conundrum: ‘Is it half full or half empty’ is actually more simpler than that of the chicken and egg.
If you pour liquid into a glass so that it is half full, then that is the answer. If you drink the liquid in a near full glass down to the halfway point, then you have emptied half of it’s original contents. In that respect, it’s, again, a matter of reason. Was the glass half filled to begin with?
The meaning of life! This; however, isn’t that easy. At the outset of the world’s creation, everything, the materials needed to produce what we come to accept and take for granted, were very much available, we just did not have the present day scientific knowledge to take rubbing two sticks together to make fire to that of using lighters and matches to cause an ignition as a perfect example of evolvement and progress.
With global warming and all it involves, pollution of the air, something has gone wrong. By that, I mean the world could and should be a peaceful place, one free of wars etc. Therefore, in some, many respects, the meaning of life is to be a shepherd to our planet; to look after it, just as we should look after life itself.
