Michael Howard
Hero to Villain!
Please note, the answers given to the ‘virtual interview’ questions in this exposé/article, are (by and large) in the ‘Public Domain’. See the TRUTH’s editorial page (the link to which can be found on the main contents page) for more.

Michael Howard, after the discovery of police corruption regarding the hand written statements/confessions that lead to those charged with the Guilford bombings being found guilty, only to be released, you, as the Home secretary, made two significant changes regarding police procedure?
Michael Howard: ‘Yes. The first was a more lengthy police caution.’
And the second, more significant one?
Michael Howard: ‘The introduction of police taped interviews.’
The fact that one of the two tape recordings was given to the defendant’s legal representative would have safeguarded against police corruption?
Michael Howard: ‘Yes.’
So, that was your primary aim?
Michael Howard: ‘Yes.’
As revealed in the TRUTH’s article, ‘How police taped interviews can and have been corrupted’, that safeguard, despite your political party being the elected Government at this time, April 2020, is no longer in place?
Michael Howard: ‘Yes.’
Why is that?
Michael Howard: ‘The second tape is sealed and can only be opened by a Judge.’
Since that revelation relates to 2003, who was responsible for what happened to the second tape?
Michael Howard: ‘That would either be the Prime Minster, Tony Blair, or one of the two Home secretaries, Jack Straw or David Blunkett.’
When you notified the media about your introduction of police taped interviews, you held what is described as a press conference, one that was included in that evening’s TV news broadcast, which is where millions of TV viewers and I, myself, saw it.
For those not old enough and those who have forgotten your comment about lack of co-operation when the person being interviewed, not necessarily a suspect, fails to answer a question, would you kindly indicate what you said?
Michael Howard: ‘Refusal to co-operate suggests they have something to hide.’
For the record, the TRUTH has since added the following to the above: 'and, or being corrupt about', something worth bearing in mind for what now follows.

Bearing your public comment in mind, when Jeremy Paxman interviewed you on what became a famous edition of the BBC’s Newsnight programme, and I’ve seen the interview from YouTube (www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqU77I40mS0), he somewhat softened you up with questions that you answered with yes or no while not being evasive with your answer, not, that is, until Mr Paxman asked the same question 12 times: “Did you threaten to overrule him?”
In reply to those 12 questions, did you co-operate by answering yes or no?
Michael Howard: ‘No, I failed to co-operate.’ (Confirmed by the YouTube video clip).
In point of fact, Mr Howard, your answers were, at best, evasive, and, unlike elsewhere, here you are compelled to tell the TRUTH?
Michael Howard: ‘Yes, my answers were clearly evasive.’
Thank you for, and despite your final honesty, the fifth question of the YouTube clip, which is: ‘Mr Howard, have you ever lied in any public statement?’ To which you emphatically replied:
‘Certainly not.’
The word ‘evasive’ is synonymous with ‘misleading’, which, in turn, is synonymous with ‘corrupt’. Unfortunately, Newsnight’s anchor, Jeremy Paxman, was so involved with getting the former Home secretary to answer his question about Mr Lewis that he missed the opportunity to throw Mr Howard’s point about police taped interviews: ‘Refusal to co-operate suggests Mr Howard had something to hide’ back at him, along with ‘and or be corrupt’.
