the British Governments, central and local, let down the homeless!
Updated from the TRUTH's 1994 printed magazine and 2000 internet version.
Question. How does the photo below differ from prehistoric times, when men and women lived in caves?

Answer: Back then, they had discovered how to make a fire, thereby keeping themselves warm in winter!
In addition to destroying the British industry and increasing unemployment from 1 million to as much as 4 times that figure, and at a heavy cost to you, the tax payer, by 1994 (see article: How Thatcher’s government destroyed the British economy!), both central and local (council) governments as good as washed their hands of the homeless, in much the same way that Pilate washed his hands of Christ.
A case of ‘doing nothing!’ while, as mentioned in several other articles/ exposés, ‘Doing nothing is taking part.’
Furthermore, it’s worth iterating what Burke indicated:
“In order for EVIL to triumph the GOOD woman/man need do nothing!”
Some people, the publisher of the ‘Big Issue’, a weekly magazine sold by homeless people in London, for one, may say that it would be an additional burden on the taxpayer to house them. The reason it would be a burden, is the increase in jobseeker’s allowance, along with Housing Benefit and Council tax benefit.
The weekly rent on a one bedroom council flat in one area of South East London is £93.00. The annual burden to the taxpayer is £4,836 while Council tax is £869.00. Added together, that comes to a yearly tax burden of: £5,705 per homeless adult, not including Jobseeker’s allowance of £3,900 (approx) per year.

In 1989, just over 4 years after taking part in the charity recording of Band Aid’s, ‘Do they know it’s Christmas’, Phil Collins released his own charity single, ‘Another day in paradise’. Proceeds of which went to help the homeless.
Back then, if his however many £millions were deposited in a British bank in England, they attracted a pretty decent interest rate. Not so, however, since the Bank of England was given the job of setting the interest rate, which, according to the Bank of England, is now (July 2019) 0.75%.
If Phil Collins, along with his many other multi-millionaire friends, including Richard Branson, would like a better return for his millions, while at the same time doing what the elected government’s, central and local, are incapable of, here is the solution:
Give them long-term ‘days in paradise’ with both housing and jobs.
Sounds simple, right, and, you know what, it is unbelievably simple as I will now explain.
For housing, and with help from Shelter and other homeless charities, lend not give them money to either build safe high-rise flats, or buy up empty flats and houses and receive a weekly rental payment, far more than 0.75%.
Increased unemployment, which will subsequently follow, and unemployment in general:

Lease empty shops and go into competition with Pound store type shops while setting up ‘homeless’ charity shops.
Customer service, as anyone who has worked in a shop at the weekend – myself included – while studying at college, knows, is, by far, one of the least skilled jobs there are.
Employing former homeless people in such a shop for 3 months at a time, will give them work skills and experience, confidence, and a reference, which should help towards getting a job in any one of the tens of millions of shops in the UK. By employing them for just 3 months at a time, more former homeless people can be helped, and all without the need to invest in an excess of shops.
Once the homeless problem is solved, both central and local governments, each being made to look the fools they are and with more than just ‘egg on their neglectful faces’, should step in and help. Don’t hold your breath, though, especially where the homeless and unemployed are concerned, moreover, the unemployed and the waste in your tax pounds to subsidise the incompetence of Governments, central and local.
NB. To see and read the effects of both the above and zero unemployment in the UK, I strongly urge you to read and enlighten yourself as to:
